It Started with Family
I’ve always been active growing up in Henderson, playing league, going to the gym, and staying reasonably fit. But things really kicked off for me when our son started having gut issues. Stuff that looked all too familiar. It made me pause and realise I’d had the same problems as a kid just never diagnosed. That opened the door to looking into food intolerances, gut health, and nutrition not just for him, but for myself too. We found out I was gluten and dairy intolerant through a hair test, and that’s when we started making some big shifts at home. That was probably my first real step into wellness, but back then it was still just something ticking away in the background.
When It Got Personal
Fast forward to 2023 life looked great on paper. Climbing the corporate ladder, good job, great family. But under the surface, I was running on empty. The pressure was building mentally and physically. Work, family, performance… it just kept stacking. I realised I couldn’t keep winging it. If I wanted to show up properly for work, for my kids, for myself I needed better habits. More clarity, more energy, more consistency. That’s when things changed. I cut alcohol, locked in my sleep, started running and doing Pilates, and found a solid supplement routine things like Yakuru’s greens and gummies that actually work and don’t overcomplicate life.
Keep It Simple
I’m not trying to be perfect I just want to feel good, stay sharp, and handle what life throws at me. I focus on the basics: stay hydrated, eat well, manage stress, and build routines that support me not wear me out. I want my kids to grow up seeing that health isn’t something you take for granted it’s something you build. You invest in it, lead by example, and stay grounded in what works for you.
